The Ventura County Music Awards are back! We’ll be doing a brief showcase performance at the Greek in Ventura Harbor, on Thursday, July 21 2016. We play at 8pm, but it’s a small room — get there by 7 to ensure seating!
That’s 1583 Spinnaker Drive, suite 101, Ventura CA 93001
Brian Parra had another thoughtful conversation with our own Jason Amelio on the “There’s No Time To Explain” podcast. Topics run the gamut from BLM and police brutality, to the nature of Steampunk. Listen here.
Or check out the previous interviews with Dan and Jason, which were maybe a bit more music-centric.
(As always, if you’d like to interview anyone from the Velveteen Band for your own publications, hit us up on the Contact page!)
The Velveteen Band will be performing at the Camarillo Fiesta and Street Fair, July 9th at 5pm. Bring the whole family for a day of fun!

We had a lot of fun talking to Brett over at Rock City Studios!
Come see Gygax, the Velveteen Band, Two Brothers, Aaron Orbit, and Once a Wolf. Rock City Studios in Camarillo.
(there will be more to say about this later. for now, we just wanted to show you the poster art)
Just a friendly reminder. We’ve mentioned this, yes?
The Velveteen Band is taking some time off to focus on the new album, so May 6th will probably be our last show in Ventura until we come back for the Bombay Beach Party in September.
Not to worry, we’re still popping up here and there before then, if you know where to look. But… don’t spoil the drama, ok?
Our residency has been going in some form or another for almost two years now. And in fact, this show marks the two year anniversary of our first performance as a band. I guess what I’m trying to say is, it’s going to be a party.
Don’t miss it.

Brian Parra, long-time friend of the Ventura music scene, has a podcast. It’s called “There’s No Time To Explain“, and you can subscribe to it wherever podcasts are subscribed to!
His interviews with Manager Dan, as well as with Foe’s personal stage hand, Jason Amelio, offer great behind-the-scenes insights, if you’re into such things.
(If you’ve got a podcast of your own, and you’d like to interview anyone from the Velveteen Band on it, hit us up on the Contact page!)
Did you come see us in Vista, CA? That was a lot of fun, and I wish we had remembered to tell you about it ahead of time!
(we’re usually better about that on Facebook. follow us there!)
Anyway… we got a chance to sit down with Dreadfully Punk, as well as Frenchy and the Punk afterwards, and the conversation was recorded in podcast form. You can listen to that here.
It was a great time, and we can’t wait to go back again next year!
(go ahead and mark your calendar now, just in case we don’t say anything again)
Our “First Fridays” residency will be moving to The Tavern in Ventura for April 1st this year.
This is really happening.
We’ll return to Bombay for the following month.
Again, this announcement is not a prank.
Please believe me.
Here’s the Facebook event.
